Paper QSLs are printed and are available through RC5A both direct and bureau. All qsos for the previous May, 2013 operation from San Cristobal were uploaded as well as HD8A log.
I'm sorry if I'd sound annoying or mentoring but still I'd like you to read the following:
My way of operation
Please be advised, my intention is to provide "new band" or "new one" to as many as possible. I stronlgy recommend to listen, try to send me your call once in the pileup, do not repeat it if I´m already answering you, limit yourself to signal report and tu. Your name and QTH are undoubtly valuable information but not essential in the case of a dx-pedition. Follow the golden rule of DXing - send as much info, as you receive. Do not call if you don't hear me. Dupe QSO's are not welcome. I use split if the pile up is too big, i.e. more than a dozen of callers at the time. If I know that my signals are strong to manage a pileup, I work simplex. With a well-behaved pilepe and good propagation 3-4 or more q's per minute is not a problem without going split and therefore not stealing bandwidth from other users.
I usually but not always end up a qso with a TU. If you heard me sending your call and report - you are in the log. Sometime when there is a big pileup, I confirm the reception of the report by repeating your call and without waiting switch immediatly to atteend another caller. Don't worry, you are in the log.
Concerning CW speed. Please give me the best you can, no matter what band. I receive QRQ way better than QRS especially on 80 and 160. I WILL lower the speed as soon as there are no callers with a given speed. Patience is a virtue.
Rarely I use ??? to verify a miscopied call. I send what I copied. Say, AA would mean that I copied AA and now requesting you to complete the call. Out of 74 thousands qsos as HC2AO only about 50 were logged incorrectly.
I don't like to specify JA only or EU only but there may be times when I will stop the pileup and address a specific geographic area. Please respect that and give a chance to the hard-to-get guys in zones 17,18,22, 23, 29, 37 especially on 80 and 160. You CAN call at any time if you are in AFRICA, PACIFIC, ASIA (excluding JA since I'll call JA specifically), OCEANIA. North American HAMs please be patient on low bands 160 through 40 at EU, AS sunset-sunrise time frame.
If you are happy with my operation style and qsos and decide to make a donation to the cause, contact me. That would be appreciated and go towards further DX outings. That goes as well for certain amount of liquors promised by certain people (I take the phrases like "I owe you a beer" or "A botlle of vodka is on me" literally) - you can fulfil the promise ))) (if you read this and thought I'm serious - I can't help)
I hope we all have FUN. 73 Alex HC2AO
