ARRL Life Member, QCWA, DXCC (248 mixed ), WAS, WAC, WAZ, RCC. QSL 100% direct or via W6 Buro... First licensed in High School back in 1971; got the General about 18 months later and went to College. Took the Advanced test during the summer of '76 between my Junior and Senior years at UC Berkeley studying Civil Engineering. Then in 1991, I finally got off my lazy butt and went for the Extra. Good decision, the extra CW priveledges really opened a lot of DX doors! Modest station here due mostly to CC&R's in a typical Northern California upper middle class neighborhood (ho-hum). Running Icom IC-756 pro II, IC-746, and IC-703 transcievers. A Yaesu FL-2100B amp (1976 vintage with original 572B's, and yes I am original owner) for a little power now and then. Antenna is a Butternut HF-9V ground mounted with 22 - 25' long radials tied to an 16" X 18" copper plate with a 4-foot ground stake at each corner. I am primarily a DX hound and like QRP work also (2 Mfj cub transcievers). Also participate in the Coffee Mug Net on 40-meters @ 9AM Saturday morning for West Coast hams who are interested in good fellowship; there is no dues or assessments. Check out our web site if you are interested. http://wb6iym.googlepages.com/coffeemugnet Thanks again for looking me up. Hope to see you soon on the air.
