Click for more detail... I was first licensed on 31-May-1978 as WB7WHT (Technician) while living in Las Vegas, NV, upgraded to General by 1979 and to Advanced class by 1981. Got my start working with radios while employed by Wilson Electronics Corporation as a radio technician. By that time I was living in Reno, NV, where I had attended and graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno. I finally upgraded to Amateur Extra class in 1997 and chose a vanity callsign based on what I consider to be my home town of Las Vegas, NV. My current interests are in emergency communications, and am active in ARES and RACES in the local area. From Jan-2004 to Oct-2006 I held the position of Section Emergency Coordinator for Colorado. I'm active with the Pikes Peak ARES and the El Paso Co. RACES groups, since around 1992. I also have been active in USAF MARS since 1983 (except for a period of time during which I was attending classes). I have an interest in and am trying to learn about and operate with some of the HF digital modes. Some of the organizations of which I'm a member: American Radio Relay League, Armed Forces Communications-Electronics Association, Cheyenne Mountain Repeater Group, Colorado Repeater Association, Las Vegas Radio Amateur Club, Military Affiliate Radio System (USAF), Mountain Amateur Radio Club, Pikes Peak FM Association, Pikes Peak Radio Amateur Association, Ten-Ten International (26900).
