AL7/NG7A was QRV 11/28/2009 through 11/30/2009 at our family's QTH in Anchorage, Alaska (CQ and ITU zone 1 Grid BP51cd). Special thanks to my brother Paul for shooting numerous arrows into the tall snow covered trees to erect the Double L antenna, my nephews Luke and Noah for tuning in all of the CW stations, my nephew Nick for letting me turn his room into the radio shack and to my sister-in-law Lisa for putting up with the radios. Thanks to all stations that worked us on our barefoot K2. The boys had fun tracking the locations and CQ zones. All QSL cards received will be forwarded to adorn their rooms. Please QSL direct or via buro to NG7A.

Bio
Field Day of 1980 at Harry Diamond Labs in Maryland motivated me to finally pass the code test and I was licensed shortly thereafter. My CW is now around 30 wpm during contests.
I enjoy all aspects of our hobby and am very grateful to all that have mentored and encouraged me along the way. Was active in DX as well as public and emergency service back east. Moved to Arizona and was a founding member and newsletter editor of the Yavapai Amateur Radio Club in Prescott. Got bit by the bug again in Oregon and continue to amaze the XYL on just how many antennas can co-exist with her garden in our small city lot. Previous call was N3CJD, which changed after 20 years of living in the 7th call district.

Main interests include antenna theory/construction and DX/weak signal work at my modest station. Current antennas are 80M Horizontal Loop with 2 feedpoints, 160M Double L and an A4 tribander on a homebrew rooftop mount all subject to change without notice. Other interests: circuit design, outdoor activities, skiing, bicycling, flying and photography.
Thanks to all who participate in any and all aspects of this great hobby! Hope to CU down the log.

George
