Click for more detail... This is me atop a 170 foot tower on Cheyenne Mountain. The city of Colorado Springs, CO is in the background. I am Chairman of the Cheyenne Mountain Repeater Group in Colorado Springs. We have VHF and UHF repeaters on 5 mountain tops in southeastern Colorado. Be sure to visit our website at www.qsl.net/cmrg. I am actively involved in the building of both VHF and UHF repeater systems. All the systems are built in my basement workshop, which is akin to building a boat in a basement. My radio equipment includes Kenwood TS-430S, TM-D700, TM-733, Yaesu FT-90, VX5R, Icom 2AT, 04AT, T81, Alinco DR-590, and an assortment of Motorola Mocors and Mitreks. Test equipment includes HP 8921A, Cushman CE-50; HP1722A scope and various other HP test equipment When not building/installing/maintaining repeaters, I am active in the Civil Air Patrol as a Mission Search Pilot. I'm also responsible for the wing's 22 VHF repeaters. In Colorado Wing, CAP, we do a lot of flying in the snow-capped Rocky Mountains. What a great way to check out potential new repeater sites!!!
