Click for more detail... I am 62 years old and was a Communications Tech. in the Navy during the Vietnam War where I learned the code compliments of Uncle Sam. Was stationed in Florida, Phillipines, Midway Island, and Texas where I was Discharged in 1970. I Was first licensed in 1973 as WN2UVS and was active for couple of years. Other things took precedence like getting married, raising a family, job and building a new house etc. and I got away from the hobby until 2008. After 35 years of absence from Ham radio and now being retired from the County Sheriff's Office I decided to get my ticket again. I was licensed as a Technician and was given the callsign of KC2TIC in 2008 and as of April of 2009 was granted my Extra ticket with callsign K2XS. I have always been interested in aviation and was into RC planes , boats and flight simming. My other passions are Golf, antique cars and tractors. My shack is totally boatanchor with the newest and primary gear being a Kenwood TS-830S gold edition. I also have alot of Heathkit, Collins, and Drake gear. I am almost exclusively on very late at night CW lower ends of the 80 and 40 meter bands. I'M not as fast as I used to be but it is coming back even though the mind and body are going in the other direction. Hi 73s and CU along the bands.
