I wanted to be a Ham since I was a kid, now I've finally done something about it! But at least I got to do a little public broadcasting during the wait.

My call is now KØXOK....a tribute to a legendary AM radio station I listened to as a kid, KXOK 630 AM! Johnny Rabbitt and Bruno ruled the airwaves back then!

Looking to upgrade to Extra, already have the book. I've got a Kenwood TS440-AT that I'm using for good effect, my first HF contact was Gary- K9WZB, and my second was a quickie with W1AW during their Open House Weekend!

Other gear...Yaesu VX5, a borrowed Kenwood TM-V7 (thanks KC9CIK!) DX-440, Patrolman-9, Pro-50, Pro-2020, Pro 2051, a vintage 1940 Silvertone console BC/SW, and of course the Zenith TransOceanic H-500. I'm a Member of ARRL and the St. Louis & Suburban Radio Club. On my campus I'm Vice-President of National Broadcasting Society--UMSL Chapter and the Program Director (and DJ "Special-K") of UMSL Radio 101.9 FM. I'm also a member of Skywarn/ARES-St. Louis #1061
