Click for more detail... I was born in San Francisco, California. I had a very early interest in electronics (no computers then!) which translated into a mania about anything related to computing later in life. Attended Caltech in Pasadena, CA obtaining a B.S. in Engineering. Went on there to complete a Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics. Joined IBM and spent three years in scientific software development at the IBM Laboratories in San Jose, CA., followed by 22 years in application programming and engineering management. In addition to management I taught numerous computer programming and mathematics courses at IBM. Retired from IBM and started a second career in the computer department at Canyon Ranch Resort here in Tucson. Have been there for almost twelve years now and am currently the IT Special Projects manager, a job in which I have the freedom to seek technologies, services and products which will enhance the Ranch’s corporate IT function. I was first licensed in about 1957 (KN6LVJ) but let it lapse and didn’t get my present license until 1992. In the interim I continued in other aspects of electronics and was the West editor of the Radio Communications Monitoring Association Journal for ten years. I spend endless hours working at and on my numerous personal computers at home and have been the co-host of the computer talk show “On Line with Christine” which aired locally every Saturday. Am married to Tisha Schmulian and have one daughter, Suzanne, who lives and works in London. Last modified: Wed Dec 10 22:40:09 2008 Does this page contain inappropriate content?
