I carried my trusty 5W FT817 and set up a dipole between trees (or whatever was available) each evening for contact with my "carers" VK2FWGJ and VK4BNQ.

I recently added a TS50S 100W transeiver and a SG230 Smartuner. I work this into a squid pole supporting 9 meters vertically.
