Helen, VA1YL, is ex VE2YAK and VE2GGQ. An avid DX-peditioner, she has also operated as CY9CWI, XJ1CWI, XJ9GM,XO1CWI, XM2CWI, VE9W, VC9W, VC1W, & VC1T.  Helen is a member of ARRL, Radio Amateurs of Canada (RAC) and the Canadian Ladies Amateur Radio Association (CLARA). Helen is a member of Girl Guides of Canada-Guides du Canada and coordinator for CLARA of the annual event Guides on the Air (GOTA), called Thinking Day on the Air (TDOTA) outside Canada. Helen & OM VE1FA live in rural Nova Scotia on 2 acre lot suitable for lots of antennas. They currently have a Mosley TA-33 Classic at 45 feet and a 500 foot delta loop. Helen enjoys gardening, quilting and rug hooking when she is not on the air. Helen is currently NCS for the CLARA 40 meter net on 7055 on Tuesday mornings at 9 EASTERN time September till May.
