Hi all,  the records say James, but the go-by name is Mike.  I can usually be found around the lower end of any HF band  (except 60M, none of my rigs can do that).

Mostly I just do CW.  I use bug, paddles, or a J-38 depending on my mood.  I enjoy a good rag chew, but don't mind an occasional contest, or DX pileup.

My main HF rig is a Ten Tec Omni VI, and I run most of the shack from a small battery bank charged with a solar cell (no particular reason, I just thought it would be cool).  On rare occasions, I'll warm up the tubes in the TS-820 and do lots of extra knob twisting.  Sometimes it's more fun to run the retro gear.  One of these days I'm going to get a proper boat anchor and really warm up the shack.
