Hi, Sometimes it is nice to have a little more information about someone you meet on the air. So here's my story: I was first licensed in January 1969, at age 15, as WN6BQI. Early on I developed an interest in QRP operation. My log shows a 1970 40m contact where I was using a 500mW single transistor transmitter that I had built. From that point on I've maintained my interest in low power CW operations and have built all sorts of QRP radios across the years. In May 1978, after finishing college at Cal Poly - San Luis Obispo, and getting married, I moved to Arizona. My call at the time was N6IS (ex-WA6BQI), but the FCC required a call change when you moved to another call district. Doing so I received AC7A - randomly! One of those times I really lucked out. Over the past 30+ years my wife and I have raised 3 great kids and we now have two wonderful grandaughters. In my free time I dabble in antennas and I am always seeking ways to improve my station operation. When on the air you will find me operating CW, mostly on 160m through 20m. Also, I very much enjoy operating QRP from portable locations that include AC7A/AH6 and DL/AC7A. I've published several antenna articles in QST and the ARRL Antenna Compendiums. These have been geared toward limited-space 160m antennas. I discovered 160m about 20 years ago and find operating the band a blast. '73 - Thomas
