Tired and frustrated after years of computing (TRS-80, Atari, Apple, PC, Mac and Linux), I found my dream: Ham Radio.

I love the warm glow of tubes, the music of CW and the idea of worldwide communication using gear that I can build and maintain. It's taken 32 years to get here, but I'm loving every moment.

I'm married to a wonderful woman (former Novice KB7OHM and believe me, I'm trying to get her back into radio). We also have 5 very talented and beautiful children.

My callsign, AF7V, is a vanity call that used to belong to my Father-In-Law, Don Jones. He and I never really got the opportunity to talk about HAM radio before he passed away, but I hope by keeping his call active I can in small part get to know him better.
