Greetings from The Last Frontier!· I've been enjoying retirement since 2001 and the·unique Alaska life style since·2003.· The spectacular scenery, abundent wildlife and independent spirit of Alaskans make this a truly remarkable place to call home.· The QTH is about 42 road miles NE of Anchorage at the head of Knik Arm in the Matanuska-Susitna Valley.· The Mat-Su covers an area in size equal to the State of West Virginia, but only has three incorporated towns and a scattered population of approximately 70,000 people.·
········· For those choosing to QSL direct an SASE for US addresses is appreciated.··AsAlaska is a US State with zip codes·one unit of first class postage is all that is necessary. ········· DX stations wishing direct QSL should include US $1 or·(1) new IRC and a self addressed envelope. ········· QSL’s via the Bureau will be answered via the Bureau. I have recently gotten set up in LOTW·and can now provide·LOTW confirmations for DXCC, WAS and the Triple Play award.· I also upload all QSO's to eQSL for those who use that system. I operate SSB,·CW, RTTY and·PSK 31.···The HF radio has recently been upgraded to a new IC-7600 and I am enjoying experimenting with all the new features.· Current antennas include a Hygain THIIDX at 70 feet (21 meters), a Force 12 EF-240S "shorty forty" 2 element mono band yagi at 79 feet (24 meters), a Cushcraft A627013S with 3 element yagi for 50 MHz at 81 feet (25 meters), a Carolina Windom 160, a Double Bazooka sloper on the 70 foot crank up tower and a ground mounted Hygain AV-6160 all band vertical. Look for me in most major contests – ARRL Sweepstakes, ARRL International DX, ARRL 160 Meter, CQWW, CQ WPX, CQ 160 Meter, NAQP, NA Sprints and on the OMISS and 3905 Country Club nets.· If you need Alaska to complete your WAS or other awards contact me via email about setting up a schedule.· I make no promises about the propagation, but if possible will try to find a mutually agreeable time.· 73 es good DX!
