Licensed in May, 1963 as SM5BGK, from 1977: SM7BGK. I still keep my SM7BGK call
(until 2031) for the only purpose of working as W2/SM7BGK on my US visits.
My CU2JT call was issued in August, 2003. The QTH is located in Livramento, a
suburb to Ponta Delgada, on the island of São Miguel (IOTA: EU003).
I am quite active on most HF bands and 6M, preferably on CW, PSK31 and RTTY.
You can also find me on various SSB nets, like the OMISS net and the Century
Club 40M early net. If you work me on those nets, use their QSL bureaus.
At the moment, my rig consists of a Kenwood TS-570, ICOM IC706MKiiG, ACOM-1000
and AL-811 amplifiers. Antennas are 6M3 for 6m up about 30ft, Mosley MP-33N for
10-15-20m and the remaining bands are covered by an inverted vee 2 * 66 ft with
apex about 45ft up. Logging is accomplished by a home made logger.
QSL policy: If you need a card, send one via the bureau or direct. You will
ALWAYS get one in return. You will also get a confirmation on LoTW at the
latest 2-3 days after the contact. I do reply to eQSL but it might take some
time.
I confirm all SWL reports if they are correct. They must show which station I
worked, when, what mode and what band.
The picture above was taken by K2LZQ, Craig, when we were fishing in Salmon
River, Pulaski, NY and it is a 13 lbs steelhead.
