Licensed in May, 1963 as SM5BGK, from 1977: SM7BGK. I still keep my SM7BGK call (until 2031) for the only purpose of working as W2/SM7BGK on my US visits. My CU2JT call was issued in August, 2003. The QTH is located in Livramento, about 5 km east of Ponta Delgada, on the island of São Miguel (IOTA: EU003). I am quite active on most HF bands and 6M, preferably on CW, PSK31 and RTTY.You may also find me on various DX nets from time to time. At the moment, my rig consists of an Elecraft K3, IC706MKiiG for back-up, ACOM-1000 and AL-811 amplifiers. Antennas are a ZX6 6-el which stays on the tower during the 6m season (End of April to end of July) and the rest of the time, the tower hosts a Mosley MP33N tribander with the 12/17m extension element. 40 and 30m are covered more or less successfully by inverted vee's. Logging is accomplished by a home made logger. QSL policy: I do prefer LoTW but if you need a paper card, please send one to EA3GHZ, direct or via the EA bureau I rather not have eQSL but I will reply to any when I find nothing better to do. Also, if you contact me on the Century Club or the OMISS net, use their free QSL bureau. SWL reports: I confirm all SWL reports if they are correct. They must show which station I worked, when, what mode and what band. The best way is to send your SWL report via EA3GHZ. The picture above was taken by K2LZQ, Craig, when we were fishing in Salmon River, Pulaski, NY and it is a 13 lbs steelhead.
