       Thanks for looking me up ..My Name is Bill ...I was born in the mid 50s

        i got my B licence in 1988 and my A licence not long after that

        I live in Leyland Lancashire near to the M6 Motorway

       Just 600 yards from Junction 28... The Leyland turn off.

       My Radio at home is an Icom 756 Pro lll  with an Icom SP-23 speaker

       the atu is an MFJ-962D 1.5k tuner  ( not often i use 1.5 k hi hi )

       The Microphone is an adonis AM-308 desk mic

        im using Home made end fed Vertical antenna for all bands...

           My advice if you’re thinking of going

                      mobile broadband

 

1. Do some research  I know this is hard to do '  but try to pick a good network? 

2. Do you already have a mobile phone and is it a good connection?

      3. Do you ever loose contact on your mobile phone

          if not’

                  go with the same company'   

          as you could get a discount on your Broadband,    

          I did….£4.00 a month discount.

 

     4. If you work in one particular aria and that is roughly

         were your thinking of using mobile broadband?    

         look for a mobile cell mast nearby you'    see if you can identify whose it is

         the mast near to me had an identification plate on it Hutchison 3G  (Other Network’s Available).

 

     5. If I was you I would try  Pay as you go  first

         and if it’s not up to scratch'   try another mobile provider    

         as you won't be tied to a 12 / 18 month contract

                           Linde Sideloader    ( Fork lift Truck )

   My Mobile Radio is an Alinco DX70th and Various Mobile antennas

   The antenna in the photo is an 40m sand-piper 1.2mt long ( 4ft )

              Im mosly on 40mtr band on 7.063 or 7.073 +/- QRM-

          New ICom 7000 only had it 3 weeks ( No R.x on 2m / 70 cms )

                               Had it repaired  and sold it   !  !

              My Alinco the best mobile Radio in my opinion

 

           The Mobile radios iv had it the past 18 years

 icom 706mkll  ok radio I had problems with lo voltage from the car (ok with other radio's )

           (distorted audoi when using100wts )  had to run at 60 wts

                           2 mtr p.a problems ...........5 out of 10

 TS 50    Good radio .................................10 out of 10 

 FT100     ok radio    a little deaf on 2 mts.....5 out of 10

 FT 857    ok radio   Hf a little noisy...............6 out of 10

 Ft 817     couldn't  live with it'  i need 80/100 wtts when mobile'   

                 sold after 4 weeks........................3 out of 10

 Icom 706mkllg  I didn't have the same problems like the other 706 with Voltage

                                    but i had problems with RF

  iv never had r f prioblems with any other radios iv used.... same mobile antennas and installation

     i did get this radio second hand'   and it had been opend up ..... i give it away in the end...

 Icom 7000  Good on HF good filters...only had it 3 weeks ( no R.x on 2m / 70 cms)

                                             Had it repaired  and sold it.......  3 out of 10

 Alinco dx 70th   Good dedicated HF Radio its never let me down   10 out of 10

                                          just like the TS50 no fiddly  menus...
