First licensed in August 1958 as G3MWV/T and a member of the RSGB for more than
50 Years. I have been active on all bands up to UHF for 50 years +. My location
is less than .5Km from the North Sea at 33M ASL. Over the years I have done a
lot of home construction, my first EME was on 144 Mhz in 1980 using 2-12
element quads. I operate 1.8 thru 432 Mhz TX-RX IC756PRO3 - IC7000 + 400 Watt
Ranger K Linear with 4-572b valves, IC-V8, FD450A. My mast is 20Mts high with
various antennas,50Mt half square + SG230 auto tuner with 200 earth radials and
earth mat for the LF bands. Beams 3E 20M, 5E 6M, 5E 2M, 12E 70cm, at 22Mt with
hairpin or T match systems.
I worked for the British Government in telecoms for a total of 34 years and
retired in 2000 when I was made a member of the Imperial Service Order by HM
The Queen.
Other interests include my Border Collie Dog called Radar, long distance train
travel, having travelled on most of the worlds famous trains and also Antartica
which I have visited several times.
