Click for more detail... I've been interested in ham radio since 1962 (when I was 12!). I was a swl until I got my license in 1979 (G8UVI), and then I upgraded to G4NHO in 1980. Most of my operating is mobile but I do have a shack in my bedroom, consisting of FT901, plus FL2100Z and matching ATU and transverter with 2 metres, 70 cms and 4 metres. I also have an ICOM 706 mkII. I can be found on 17 metres every Saturday evening usually on 18.130 at 21:00 hrs bst, and for this I use a Kenwood TS140S, the antenna is a toploaded comet, which is just over 1 metre in length and is highly recommended. I also use echolink, this can be downloaded http://www.synergenics.com and many repeaters all over the world can be accessed on this system. There is another system which is similar to echolink, try it, http://www.qsl.net/m0zpd If you like working sideband on your PC, there are two remote stations in the states, they can be found on http://www.w4mq.com. An interesting site if you want to look up an old rig is http://www.rigpix.com My other hobby is scootering, check out our club website http://www.southlondonrevivalsc.co.uk.
