Been interested in Wireless since the age of about 8/9 in the early 1930's and
construction when possible with second hand parts. Royal Signals late 1942
September 1947. Europe 1944 Middle East Land Forces 1945 June 1947.Construction
with "new fangled" transisters, Red Spots/Green Spots OC72's etc
1952.SWL again after Demob in 1947. Amateur Course 23/09/1957-07/07/1958.
Evening classes at Brentford Middlesex, lived in Chiswick W4 did not pass and
have time to continue, pressure of work. RAE Course 15/09/1981-11/05/1982.
Passed RAE, a great surprise Hi December 1981 as GW6 HAW. Passed CW April 1984
GW4 XKE. Member Royal Signals ARS. RAFARS ARS. Barry ARS and Committee many
years, Shack Manager 1985/1987 etc. Royal Signals ARS Rally Representative
Wales 1985/1996. Active with Special Event Stations.At Llandudno Rally North
Wales November GB4 RSL for 12 years.!999 & 2000 GB75 AFS (Air Formation
Signals). 1999 GB99 SET (Science Engineering Technology).2000 GB2000 SET
(Science Engineering Technology). Member Radio Society of Great Britain since
1980. Secretary/Treasurer of the Prudential ARS G0PRU G8PRU G0PPS Founder
Member.Gotpushed into computers by daughter on 1st April 1999. Knew nothing
about them but learning at aged 76 but now will soon be 83 as I amend this 15th
July 2007.
