Born in 1963, licensed in 1983, I was very active on HF bands until I went QRT in 1993 since I attended to a post graduated Master in the USA. I started building a new station in a new location in September 2007, still holding my previous callsign; actually my equipment is a Yaesu FT-2000D and Icom IC-756 PRO III with a Kenwood TL-922 and Acom 1000 amplifiers; main antenna is a Fritzel FBDX506, 5 elements yagi working fairly well on 10/12/15/17/20/30 mt bands and a Butternut HF2V vertical ground monted with a good number of radials for 40 and 80 meters. Main interest is chasing DX, mostly on CW, but recently I can be heard on RTTY as well, while I try to avoid SSB unless there's a new country on the air (P5 is a good example). I hold DXCC-MXD (321 entities - deleted excluded) and DXCC-CW (309 entities); I also hold WAZ-CW and WAS-CW; I'm now working on WAS-RTTY, still needing Nevada and Rhode Island to finish it up, so if you are from one of these states and you hear me RTTY CQ'ing, please give me a call ;-) I'm a medicine doctor working in Varese hospital and I am married wih Rosa; we have two kids, a boy, Lorenzo, born in 2002, who will be an ham radio operator in the near future, and a very pretty girl, Federica, born in 2005 who's not interested at all in ham radio. I'm a 100% QSL man, I send paper QSL via bureau and "virtual" ones via LotW; in case you urgently need Italy on any band we may have worked on, just send me a direct QSL card, no SAE/SASE required, I'll be happy to help you. If you wish you can check my log here, where you can request a QSL to be sent via bureau 73's and see you on the pile-ups!!
