**** May 30th, 2009 - IZ0GKN Roberto "Bob" is SK ****

i'm astonished knowing him from almost 25 years.

He was a gentleman and i friend.

Thanks Bob for everything you have done for radio starting from 27MHz with me and being later on a real SENIOR OM.

It has been a pleasure meeting you.

We will miss you Roberto IZ0GKN - 1AT059 (CB Alfa Tango Vice President)

********

HK3/IZ0GYP from Bogotà Colombia (started on January 30th, 2008)

I'll be active from Colombia from this date up to September 2009 as HK3/IZ0GYP. I'm active from 10 to 80 meters (phone, cw, rtty, psk and jt65).

Starting from January 2009 i will be also active using WSPR from FJ24. Unfortunately due to call digit limit (6 digits) you will decode me and be decoded as IZ0GYP; anyhow grid locator will assure correct distance calculation.

Working conditions are FT-897D/I, PO 100W, windom (10 to 40 meters), diamond W-735 (mainly for 30 & 40 meters) and a homemade Ribakov (80 meters; starting soon).

Scheds are more than welcome.

All QSOs are uploaded regularly on LOTW. A special QSL (the one shown on QRZ.com) has been already prepared. QSLs are printed and sent via Global QSL service and are under way. QSL are sent to all stations contacted (even the ones already confirmed via LOTW or direct). I do hope to receive also yours. As some of you already knows i'm replying also to direct QSLs (as far as i'm in Rome for vacation). All SWL cards will be answered too.

NO CONTRIBUTION NOR SASE IS REQUIRED.

Best Regards and i do hope to contact you all over the bands.

HK3/IZ0GYP - Enrico

PS: ND-North Dakota OM please help me to complete the WAS (Hi..... Tnx!!!!)

====================================================================== ======================================================================

Hy all.

I'm 40 and licensed since 1989. Due to my job i'm often travelling around the world. That's why i just recently started real HAM activity.

QSL policy... oh... if a hate this issue. I personally do understand everybody that for some good reason (geographycal remote location, real budget problems, etc.) may request contribution. On the other side i disagree with some else that, to limit troubles that thousands of QSL will produce in their quiet radio shack simply ask for SASE... (that's too easy dear OM)...and i do avoid to refer to those that think that this is an easy way to buy new equipments.

But...

...but you all should remember the first time that you made a QSO with a "common" country for others but totally new for you. Did you appreciate the QSL? Did you became happy? (i defently think so)...

therefore here is my simple QSL policy:

I WILL call not only CQ DX but also CQ and therefore give to all "rookies" possibility to work also one of the hundreds italian HAM stations or one of the Rome's stations.

I WILL always QSL 100% ; SWL are more than welcome !!!

I WILL QSL bureau cards via bureau.

I WILL QSL direct cards with direct answer but please NO SASE, NO $, NO £ and NO Euros.

I WILL NOT accept to reduce a hobby to a pure business.

I WILL NOT eQSL as i think that internet may be used only as auxiliary communication help but not to digitally convert our card collection.

See all of you on the bands.
