Greetings from the southern tip of Japan.
The name is MASSY for short for Masafumi. I have been a ham radio operator for
39 years since 1969 as JA6NKA and am also JA1LNB/6.
My daughter KAHO became a ham operator as JA6QGW when she was 5 years old -
kindergarten in September 2003 (and 10-yrs-old now).
And also my son KOSUKE (please refer to http://www.suny.jp/Ham/ja6nka.html to
see our memorial QSL card of his being 100-days-old baby) became a ham operator
as JA6OYG when he was 7 years old in March 2003 (and 12-yrs-old now).
My XYL became JA6REP (formerly JP6CSS just after our marriage). So my entire
family members are hams now (please refer to our pictures at Icom's web site
http://www.icom.co.jp/beacon/backnumber/ham_life/ikenoue/index.htm ).
We also love HF (please enjoy some pictures from above Yaesu-Museum site),
EchoLink (4601 JA6NKA-R & -L), eQSO (Kagoshima JA6NKA-R), WiRES #5625D,
Phone-Patch traffics etc. through JP6YHK Kagoshima Repeater (439.920MHz -5MHz
88.5Hz 10W) and also CQ100.
Moreover, my APRS (JA6NKA-7, -9 and Weather) Stations are also always active. I
recently wrote the series of articles on Japanese CQ Hamradio magazine (January
- May 2007 editions for 5 months and the October 2007 edition) about APRS
(Automatic Position Reporting System).
I gave a rectuer/seminar on "Let's start APRS" at CQ ham radio booth
in Tokyo Hamfair 2007 on August (shown as a above picture). And this summer, do
please come and visit at our "J-net corner" collaborationg with/in
KENWOOD booth at Hamfair 2008 and "APRS J-net", where I will issue
APRS software Registration Numbers and demonstrate on real time
"APRS+VoIP" activities during 8/23-24.
Please refer to http://www.suny.jp/Ham/APRS.html for details. We started APRS
Server as "T2J-net", so everyone is always welcome to use it. We look
forwards to seeing you on APRS and/or VoIP in the very near future.
