Hello everyone!

"Kon-nichiwa and Konbanwa" My name is Taka. Thank you very much for checking my site. I am now living in Akita city. Here is about 500km north of Tokyo, located in northern JA. Akita is a port city at the Japan sea area. I came here from the central JA. Home QTH is Hamamatsu city in the Mt.Fuji area. Akita is my work place. My occupation is Marina operation and management. Yes, this facility. http://www.marinaakita.co.jp

I like sailing, boat game fishing, motorcycle riding and mountain trekking. But my most favorite time is operating amateur radio. I work on HF bands 20m 17m 15m and 6m often from my automobile or apartment shack. I like to operate while parking at seaside and mountainside in good location.

I have a popular Toyota sedan. Set up for mobile operation using a IC-706mk2 and a twin mobile whip mono band ANT system. Its length is 1.2m- fiberglass element with a 1/4 base-loading coil for each band. The ANTs are located both sides of the car trunk lid. A 1/4-length 50-ohm coaxial cable and a T connecter connect these ANTs to each other.

I am using a matching box, located behind the transceiver and the SWR is always under 1.2 to 1.5. This ANT set up is called a vertical stack system. The gain of ANT system is about 3db over to front of car. It's operates just like a small beam ANT system.

When I call DX stations, I set mobile direction by moving the car and at a same time using a small marine compass in my car. If when I work another band. First of all, I change the ANT elements make adjustment to the 50-ohm cable to operate on a different band.

Even though it is a very simple system, The ANTs give a good performance. It is very cheap and having good cost performance. I learned about this ANT system from a US trucker. They said that this ANT system was popular especially tropical R66. If you are interested in this ANT system, I recommend you to try it.

Anyway, Are you interesting about sailing boat cruising? If you have a time, please listening to try Maritime mobile network for the sailboat support net. Its work on from JA, starting time everyday 03:20zulu, band is 21.437mhz, this net name is "Okera net" http://okeranet.com and other one "Seagull net" 21.382mhz, starting 22:00zulu also everyday from JA. It's an interesting traffic and so I'm often checking in these networks from mobile shack. If you have a chance please check in these Nets, we are always welcome.

Finally, I have a good radio friend. Callsign is JH2UZR his name is Yoshi-san. Callsign is almost the same as my callsign and he lives in Ise city, near Nagoya, which is so far away about 900km from Akita. But we often talk to each other on the radio.

Yoshi-san is very active on the 15m band some people get confused with and make a mistake with our callsign. Yoshi-san's English is very good but my English is not so good. Hi Hi...

Thanks for taking time to this page and this is my background. Many thanks for all. Please calling me anytime if you hear me. I hope to see you on the air.

73's "Sayonara" from Taka. In northern Japan.
