First of all, I am not a QSL manager, for any station. My late father, NØJT, was a QSL manager until about 2003. I do not have the logs, etc, so please do not send me requests for QSL cards. I can't help you.
I've been a ham since 1977, first licensed in New Jersey as WB2NEX, the youngest member of a ham family. My brothers is N2JT.
I primarily work CW and do not own a microphone at this time. With a modest antenna, it is more reliable than SSB, particularly with the marginal conditions of the past few years. My Elmer was Walt Heinemen, W2AQR/W2QR, and he instilled in me a love for CW.
I enjoy ragchewing from QRS to near-QRQ. Well, I guess it depends on your definition of QRQ. I also am in the stable of operators at K5GO in Harrison, AR. I believe I contest with some of the finest operators anywhere. I am also a member of the Nixa Amateur Radio Club.
I am a member of FISTS (14601), CW Ops (481) and am now working to remain in poor standing with CFO (1013). If you are looking to sharpen your CW skills, I strongly recommend the CW Ops CW Academy.
My station now consists of an Elecraft K3/100, Ten-Tec Titan 425 amplifier, and two antennas: A Hy-Gain AV-640 that I use less and less, and a sloping dipole, about 125' long, that I feed with 600 ohm ladder line. I highly recommend the ladder line spacers from 73-CNC. The dipole, with its apex at 45' and ends about 30', consistently outperforms the vertical. My paddle is a Begali Pearl, and I generate the CW with a Winkeyer USB. Rounding out the station, I use a Ten-Tec 238B tuner and an LP-100A RF Wattmeter.
Professionally I work in managed care contracting for Rockport Healthcare Group. That means I negotiate reimbursement agreements with healthcare providers, primarily for the treatment of work-related injuries and illness.
Most of my activity is on 40 meters, but with winter approaching and this new antenna I'll be on 80 as well, and with sunspots, I'm now going back to the higher bands. Hope to QSO somewhere in that range.
73, Art
