Born in N.J. and raised in Saugerties,N.Y.,I have been interested in radio since the age of 7. Originally licensed in 1977 as WB2RJL, I have lived in the south since 1979, spending 25 years in the Orlando, Fl. area, and the last 5 years here in S.C. My interests are primarily weak signal VHF and UHF work ,and rag chewing on HF. Other hobbies include TV, FM and AM broadcast band DX'ing. I live with my wife Anne, three dogs and two cats, on a beautiful ridge in northern South Carolina, about 15 miles north of Greenville S,C, and 50 miles south of Asheville, N.C. My most recent DX includes working KC4AAA at the South Pole using just 100 watts and a 40/80 meter dipole thru the tuner in my Kenwood TS-570SG.
Regretfully, I must report that Christopher R. Johnson K2FO went silent key on the morning of September 20, 2009.
