I'll be operating from Edisto Beach/Edisto Island SC until March 11th
Above picture is the ten meter vertical I fashioned up with some wire and PVC pipe. Two radials along the bottom of it. I left my 31ft pole at home, which left me to only use 15, 12 and 10m using the tuner.
Currently most of my interest is in digital modes on HF, PSK31, RTTY, Olivia, MFSK, and whatever else I can decode. I really enjoy pulling weak signals out of the noise, it is very satisfying to see someone’s "print" on the screen clearly after pulling every trick I know in the book to make a signal pop out of the noise. I also enjoy RTTY contesting, and PSK31 contests from time to time.
I love working 40 meters late in the evening and early mornings, and 20 meters when it is open.
Rigs used Flex3000, Kenwood TS-830s, and FT-857D, with a ALS-600 Amp at times. Antenna usedcurrentlyis a 130ft balance line fed dipole.
