From my early childhood I've always been interested in radio. I have fond
memories of the CB in my Dad's truck. I got into CB heavily in the late 90's up
until being diagnosed with MS in 2002 which forced me to move back in with my
parents. Shortly after this I met a group of local HAMs who really encouraged
me to get my license. In 2004, the local amateur radio club, Montgomery Amateur
Radio Club held a Technician class which gave me the confidence boost to take
and pass the element 2 exam. Then, during March and April of 2006 they held a
General upgrade class. With the help of that class and the awesome CodeQuick
software and audio tapes I passed elements 1 and 3 to gain my General class
license on 4/10/2006. Then on 10/9/2006 I passed element 4 to upgrade to
Amateur Extra.
