Here I am around 1967 as WA4TUF. In 1970, after college, I went QRT until 1999.
That's a long time to miss! Having fun catching up.
Rigs today are an Elecraft K3 (#101) with an Ameritron AL572B. The antennas are
a Mosley Tigeray mounted on the chimney (3 el on 20/15/10 and rotatable dipole
on 17/12) and an 80 meter OCF Windom up in the trees. I run mobile with a Yaesu
FT-100D and ATAS120 antenna. There's a Yaesu MarkV Field at the office with a
G5RV. You might also hear me from Myrtle Beach, SC. on my Elecraft K1, K2 or
TenTec Argo V. The antenna will be whatever I can hang off the condo balcony -
usually an Outbacker or an end-fed half wave.
I am an active FISTS member and I operate mostly CW including CW mobile. I also
operate PSK from my stationary exercise bike in the mornings. There's a
microphone around here somewhere but I am not sure how to use it. I don't now
why I took this picture in 1967 with a microphone. I never used one then
either. That DX-60 only had about 10 watts output on AM and my voice was a dead
give away that I was "just a kid." On CW I was anyone's equal.
I QSL 100% any way you want with no SASE expected.
