I was first licensed in 1963,at age 16 and was WN4OOL in
Memphis, Tennessee. K4IBZ, Carson L. Dueberry was my elmer.
Carson became a silent key in 1975 and I aquired his call in
1999 under the FCC Vanity Call Sign Program. I'm very proud to
continue my Elmer's memory with his call. Since my Novice days I
have held several different call signs and are as follows:
WN9LGL,WA9LGL, WA4YCO, AA4AG, AA4GZ, KQ5I and DA1KV. If you have
worked me under any of these calls or if you hold any of these
former calls please send me your QSL or a e-mail.
My main interests are CW, restoring old tube rigs, and building
tube transmitters. I have 43 different ham rigs and use a
different rig everyday. You can find me on 40 meter CW most
nights. I love to rag chew and talk about old tube rigs.
I still operate with the same straight key and transmitter my
Elmer gave me back in 1963. A Army Signal Corps J-37 straight
key and A Johnson Viking Adventurer.
