Hello, I got my start in amateur radio first as a cadet in the civil air patrol in the mid 50’s, my first call was blue dog 264. I received my ham license in 1957.
Ham radio has been my main hobby for many years. I retired from B. I. (the Reidsville Drapery Plant, 1956-1994), during this time a fellow co-worker, (a flight instructor got me interested in another hobby flying). I did solo, and have about 100 hours, (25 hours pilot in command). Another life long hobby that I acquired from my father includes vegetable gardening.
I like amateur radio because many are friends of mine that I have met and have contact with at club events, I am a member of the Rockingham County ARC, N4IV. My ten-ten number is 32382, OMISS #7677#
Tower is 30 foot rohn plus 15 feet of mast, antennas 3 element beam for 10,15,20 meters (Mosley TA 33jr.) 2/440 Jetstream (JTB1) Rotor CDE Ham III. Dipoles (160 and SPI-RO-D-52 trap 80/40 meters)
I hope to meet you on the Ham bands. 73 Jamey, K4RVJ
