K4XS will be QSYing to the Big Island of Hawaii in October of 2006 permanently. Look for me sometime in the spring of 2007 from my new QTH.

I was first licensed in 1962 under the call of WV2ZPK as a novice. I upgraded within a month to general and was given the call of WA2ZPK. In 1974 I moved to Florida and changed my call to WA4TYL. Finally, in 1976 my call was changed to K4XS.

I am very active in HF contests and have been contesting since my early years of radio. My dream of a super-station was finally realized in 1997 with the purchase of eight acres upon which I have put up several towers including three 200-footers.

I have been a member of the rapidly growing Florida Contest Group since 1997. Check out our site at www.floridacontestgroup.org/. If you poke around the site you will find all kinds of stuff including pictures of my station taken several years ago.
