I was originally licensed at age 13 in 1967 with the callsign WN5RTG. My father was also a ham and was originally licensed as W5DRW in 1932. He later traded that callsign for N5DX and passed away in 1990. In 1993 my son, Kevin obtained his license and quickly upgraded so he could get his grandfather's callsign. He is now N5DX.

Both of us have an interest in contesting and in the year 2000 with the help of several friends we built a house specifically for radio contesting on the top of a mountain in Boone County near Harrison, Arkansas.

Antennas include a shunt fed tower for 160M, 4 Square for 80M, 5 element 40M Yagi (pictured in upper left on QSL card), 8/8 on 114 foot booms at 150/75 feet fixed on Europe for 20M (pictured in lower right on QSL card), 6 element Yagi for 20M, 7 element Yagi for 15M, 6 element Yagi for 10M and other antennas for fixed directions. After having to take the 40M Yagi down for repair after a major ice storm (minimal damage to the antenna but it still had to come down) I built eight 6 meter elements and installed them on the top rail of the 45G boom on the front of the 40M Yagi. Am now playing with 6 meters looking for the sunspots to bring good conditions on that band in the future.

Most of our contest operations are in the Multi-Multi category in the major CW DX contests. Kevin or others may work some of the other contests single operator.

If you are a contester and are interested in joining us for a contest, please let me know. Until now our multi-operator efforts have all been CW but we just upgraded to new computers and N1MM and may be working some phone contests in the future.

We appreciate the contest QSOs very much. Logs from Multi-Multi contest operations are loaded into LOTW. K0DEQ is a very special person who answers cards sent via the bureau.

73.Stan, K5GO
