Click for more detail... I am currently looking for a technical writing, technical marketing, product testing, or other interesting position at a high-tech company that will allow me to help make the company’s products easier to understand, install and configure, use, interoperate with other technology—and of course, easier to sell. I spent almost 11 years as the Technical Editor of CADENCE magazine, until it was sold to Cadalyst (published by Advanstar), and towards the end of CADENCE, spent a year as the Product Review Editor for Game Developer magazine and the Editor for Gamasutra.com, still with CMP media. After a hiatus that included working for HamStop/Saratoga Amateur radio products, I spent nearly two years as a technical marketing manager at NVIDIA corporation, working with workstation graphics and consumer video playback technology. Currently, a big part of my amateur radio activities involves volunteering with the Americn Red Cross Bay Area chapter (ARCBA)—preparing for the next big earthquake by enhancing our emergency communications capability, so that we're able to communicate with shelters, government agencies, and with all our volunteers. My home shack is still small, but I've planned carefully for growth and enhanced capabilities. I'm currently using a Yaesu FT-2800M (one at a local club meeting) as my VHF base station. I'm currently using a VX-177 as my UHF base station, while I research which radio(s) I'd like to use in the future. For packet, I have a Yaesu FT-1500M hooked up to an MFJ-1278 TNC. All of this is equipment is connected to an NCS Radio Multi-Switcher (NCS-3240) so I can use my Heil Goldline Presentation microphone with any radio at the push of a button. I'll soon be adding a Kenwood PC-1A telephone patch and a Rigblaster Plus soundcard interface. Both will be hooked in to the switchter so I can use them with any radio. I'm also hoping to connect my Heil mic up to the telephone line with a piece of distance-learning equipment, so I can achieve better fidelity when calling into AM radio talk shows.
