The picture shows my homebrew qrp tube transmitter, RME DB20 preselector, and 40 meter regenerative receiver on the shelf. The Ranger and SX28A are below. My original call in 1954 was W7VLH in Redmond, OR where I grew up. I became a ham while in high school when typical rigs were homebrew, usually running less than 100W output. Unable to afford a quality receiver or transmitter then, I have compensated by building my own now that I have the time. I am most active with a kit-built Elecraft K3/100 transceiver but also use the Ranger and homebrew tube transmitter with the SX28A. Now retired from electronics engineering in the Seattle area, most of my non-radio time is taken up with gardening/landscaping on 10 acres of forest near the Strait Of Juan De Fuca across from Victoria B.C. My webpage at http://www.qsl.net/k7fj/ provides more pictures of the QTH and construction details for the homebrew tube gear. Last modified: 2011-02-10 17:55:18, 1010 bytes cached
