Originally licensed as K7GJX in 1958 while still in high school. Operated from Northern California as WA6ZWM during the mid-sixties and returned to ham radio after a very long absence. I have been enjoying HF on 80/40/20/17 meters as well as doing QRP portable operations in the mountains of both northern and southeastern Arizona. My 1995 Ford Explorer has become my "station on wheels" and is fitted with sleeping bag, equipment rack and battery shelf. A totally self contained communications site which includes a 26 foot portable antenna mast for quick assembly of my 88 foot Zepp antenna for 80-10 meter operations(see photo QSL above)! Main interest is DXing, QSLing and building wire antennas and verticals. During this low part of the Sunspot Cycle I have been using an NVIS 80 meter dipole at 12 feet above ground with very good results on cw running only 50-75 watts. Current Equipment: Kenwood TS-930SAT, Collins 30L1 Linear Amp, Kenwood TS-130S, Mosley 20 meter Vertical, Cushcraft R-7 Vertical. Last modified: 2011-11-11 21:54:37, 1042 bytes cached
