The picture is K7GT operating on 40 CW from a backcountry camp in Big Arroyo, Sequoia National Park, about 2001. Elevation is about 9000'.

QTH details: Jackson County OR, grid CN82lj, at elevation 1350'. We live on two acres in the oak foothills near the Rogue River.

Operating is almost entirely CW. I enjoy DX ragchewing and somewhat casual contesting. I especially enjoy doing Multi-op events with ham friends. This year I operated CW SS with W7KNX and SS Phone with N5EG and W7KNX.

First, nearby Crater Lake and the Phantom Ship. View is to the southwest from the east rim, about 7000'

Jordan Lake in the Naturalist Basin of the Uinta mountains, NE Utah. Elev 10620'.

Arrowhead Lake in the Rae Lakes basin along the PCST in Kings Canyon National Park. The view is to the north at elevation 10350'.

Next is a pix of Townsley Lake, in the Vogelsang area of the Yosemite backcountry. Elev about 10400'. For car campers at Tuolumne Meadows, this spectacular spot is what you will find just 5 miles to the south!

This last picture was taken in 1976 near Aspen Colorado. We are at Buckskin pass, elev 12462'. I am the handsome (young) dude on the left wearing the BYU jersey.
