Mike Hlavaty-LaPosa Where is Mike (or at least his radios)? http://www.findu.com/cgi-bin/find.cgi?k7mhl-7 http://www.findu.com/cgi-bin/find.cgi?k7mhl-9 I live in the beautiful Pacific Northwest near Seattle, specifically over on the Eastside near Woodinville, and work in Redmond for a major telecomms company. When I can find some time away from family and work, I get to enjoy working with my radios, packet data, APRS and computer applications wrapped around all of it. Even though I do a lot of RF and device-related projects at work, it's just a lot more fun in the amateur world. I'm currently working with a Yaesu line-up: new FTDX5000 for home station doing HF with a RadioWavz Colinear G5RV HF antenna along with an LDG Z-11 Pro; FT-8900R with a Diamond X50 as my home station for VHF/UHF; FTM-350R in the SUV with a tri-band Comet SBB15; FT-897D now sitting idle as a mobile RF rig; and a VX-8R HT with a Diamond SRH320A. I have a Tigertronics SignaLink USB for HF digital modes. After I get a Byonics or OTm2, I'm looking to put up an APRS digipeater with the Comet GP-15 I have, and also run packet modes on the FT-897D and FT-8900R as soon as I can get all of this configured. I picked up an AEA PK-88 at a swap meet, which will provide fun inlearning how to update and use it for packet. Recently I also got an AEA PK-232MBX on eBay, got the update from Timewave, and have slowly been working to put that into service. I'm also a member of the City of Redmond ARES group. You can usually find me on the N6OBY repeater at 443.325 (+) PL 103.5 or the Seatac Repeater Association repeater, W7WWI at 147.080 (+) PL 103.5. I'm also on EchoLink occasionally. Having attended Dayton Hamventions 2009/2010/2011, I've decided I like it enough to make it a four-peat and will be at Hamvention 2012. If it works out, my wife Jan, KF7KIC, will even come with me as she did in 2011. I'm looking forward to the trip and meeting more great folks there. 73's, Mike HL Last modified: 2011-12-23 09:19:18, 2766 bytes cached
