Young Amateur Contest Ham Team, (YACHT) is a club for young amateurs interested in the skill and art of contesting. Local contests, U.S. Contests, and contests all around the world will very soon be hearing this call sign on a regular basis. Why contest? Because its fun, and it helps keep our equipment in tip top shape. Keep your ears and eyes open for this call sign and when you hear it or see it spotted, give us a call, this is the future of Ham Radio your hearing and it will be our pleasure, and our point, making contact with you.

Contesting is just a part of the overall experience of the YACHT group. We are involved in all aspects of ham radio and enjoy discussing some of the activities that we are currently doing and things that we want to do in the future.

47 members and 14 coaches. Located in 10 different states and 2 countrys. Welcome aboard to all. The YACHT has grown fast and is becoming well known on the air waves and around the world. Look for us on the bands and say Hi.

Look for us in the March 2009 CQ magazine. Great article by one of our YACHT members.

You are welcome to come and join the fun and become a member of the Young Amateur Contest Ham Team, check out the Young Amateur Contest Ham Team web site at: www.wd8dx.com/yacht.html

Our YACHT group has met with some of Ham radios famous people during the AES superfest in Milwaulkee, Wisconsin. We will be there again in 2009.

Join us on the Echolink Youth Net on Saturday Mornings at 11:00 AM Central time. You will find us at Echolink node # 44407, The k9kjm repeater in Sturgon Bay Wisconsin.
