Hello, nice to have you look me up, I was introduced to amateur radio by a OM down the street from me when I was a Cub Scout back in 1970.In 1972- I was a Lone Eagle Scout by then. Ive held the 1st radiotelephone-with radar indorsement- the 2nd class radio telegraph with the GMDSS and radar .all expired now.I was given my Novice exam by WB8LJY-Mark Wilson-5wpm receiving code and sending, waited 3 wks for my written exam to come a very long wait for me-took the test didnt know if I passed ? 6 weeks later a letter from the FCC-I was WN8TGH-I got on the air with a old Heathkit DX100 and a Hallicrafters SX110-I worked 53 countries on 15 mtr cw novice band and WAS on 15 and 40 cw,I was only a Novice for 6 mos.I went to the FCC Field office in Detroit to take the 13 wpm code test, written exam, the code test was a breezeI was now WB8TGH but only for 2 mos.I went before the FCC in Detroit for the 20 wpm code test, written exams for the Advanced and Extra class licenses. I have elmered many Novices and gave many exams.I think all amateur radio oprs.should have a working knowledge of the code! It was a sad day when the FCC ended the cw requirements- I operate 99% cw.I enjoy Elmering all.My son is WA8MAX and has been licensed since age 8yrs old-5wpm Novice-he is a cw opr too,now a general.I love all animals,I have 2 dogs,a Rottweiler, Bruno, and Rusty,a Jack Russel Terrior a REAL Hand FULL! and 1 cat Rollex from the shelter,he is cool, our Golden Lab.Hank is a Silent Bark now he was a great waterfowler we miss him dearly.I am a Life member of the ARRL-Life member of WFF #300, A-1 Operators Club -SKCC #118T- FH#114-WARCC#163-10-10 #12581-GACW#893-FP#1267-30MTRDG#2558-EPC#8221-NAQCC#1034-MIQRP#1696-GERITOL #1991-DMC #2993,BOZO #900.Active SKYWARN storm watcher/reporterI like Real paper QSls-and enjoy getting them,.Amateur radio has been a wonderful advocation/ hobby for me .I enjoy DXing /Rag Chewing 99%CW- I Do Not Contest. Thank you-73/DX/44s/GL

DX Code of Conduct

I will listen, and listen, and then listen again.

I will only call if I can copy the DX station properly.

I will not trust the cluster and will be sure of the DX station's call sign before calling.

I will not interfere with the DX station nor anyone calling him and will never tune up on the DX frequency or in the QSX slot.

I will wait for the DX station to end a contact before I call him.

I will always send my full call sign.

I will call and then listen for a reasonable interval. I will not call continuously.

I will not transmit when the DX operator calls another call sign, not mine.

I will not transmit when the DX operator queries a call sign not like mine.

I will not transmitwhen the DX station calls other geographic areas than mine.

When the DX operator calls me, I will not repeat my call sign unless I think he has copied it incorrectly.

I will be thankful if and when I do make a contact.

I will respect my fellow hams and conduct myself so as to earn their respect.
