I took the plunge into the wonderful world of amateur radio after taking
Skywarn certification in 1996. My husband, WAĜBOF, who has been a ham since he
was 14, encouraged me to become one, and then to continue to upgrade my
license. Another influence is Steve Lindblom, NĜORU, who inspired and
fascinated me with his knowledge and expertise in designing and building all
kinds of electrical projects.
The ever-changing weather in Missouri is one of my major interests and I hold
basic and advanced Skywarn certificates. Thanks to the assistance of NĜORU, I
was able to set up my APRS WX station and post the data online, as well as
track and contact amateur radio balloons launched by NSTAR and related groups.
I am a member of YLRL, Young Ladies Radio League, and sponsor a DXYL who lives
in Germany. I am a member of Sullivan Amateur Radio Club, and Crawford County
Radio Club.
Outside of amateur radio, I am a Past Matron (presiding officer 2004) of
Alexander Chapter #242 Order of the Eastern Star. I was installed Worthy Matron
for 2009 in my dual chapter, Martha and Mary #364, Steelville, MO.
Other interests include motorcycling, Eckankar, photography, our English
bulldog, Buster, and Balinese cat, TC. I have two grown step-children, Sam, 33,
who is married to Joanna with custody of his half-sister Claira, 16, and
Rebecca, 26.
Hope to see you 'down the log.'
