I set up in many different towns, depending on where life takes me, and often
operate from Canada as VE#/KB7PWJ. QSLs should go through the ARRL Region 7 QSL
buro ( http://www.qsl.net/wvdxc/ ), or to the Olympia address listed above.
These days I make most of my contacts via portable QRP, using a 20m OHR 100 at
5 to 10 watts to low, hastily-improvised longwires.
Even my "QRO" ops are exclusively LPCA (Low Power, Crummy Antenna).
The above photo, taken in Pacific Beach, Washington, shows me at the controls
of my trusty-rusty LPCA station: Tentec 580 Delta, MFJ antenna tuner and
artificial ground, Bencher paddles with cab-over MFJ keyer... and that's all! I
typically run 50 to 100 watts to a longwire with this rig. Because the
technology is simple and the mode maximises range while minimising RFI, I
always operate CW. And I have a blast!
73, and thanks for the look-up.
