First licensed as WN9SRI in the Chicago suburbs 1966 in seventh grade. Since then have held WN9BUJ, WB9BUJ, WA1ULT (CT), WB5XOO (OK) and WB5YFJ. KC5F received in 1980. (WB5XOO was issued by mistake by the FCC and replaced two weeks later, as the "X" calls were then reserved for experimental stations.)
Moved to NC in 1986, but all the 2x1 4th-area calls were used up, so I kept KC5F. My daughter Tara became KE4PYL in 1994 when she was eight, and now wouldn't hear of me changing my call for a vanity call! Tara's now more interested in boys, but her younger brother Tyler is now KG4NRV, and he's more than willing to call me in the car when his Mom needs to get hold of me. Mom herself passed her 5wpm back in '76, but doesn't seem to feel she needs to needs to get a license when she's got two kids who can call me!
I work as a computer programmer, and my free time is taken up as an active member of the Baha'i Faith, as well as playing music on hammered and mountain dulcimer.
