The above image was taken at sunset in September 1999, about a mile east of Overbrook, Kansas (Osage County), along and on the north side of U.S. Highway 56.  Several acres of sunflowers had been planted to remind passing motorists and others that nearby is the historic Santa Fe Trail crossing.
