Hello and thanks for looking me up. I was originally licensed in 1964 as WN9GPP (novice), then upgraded a year later to WA9GPP (general). I worked mostly 40 M AM and CW using my Hallicrafters HT-40 and SX-140 combination with an inverted V dipole. What fun that was. Somewhere along the line I upgraded to a WRL Globe Scout transmitter. I still have all three pieces of equipment. During my U.S. Army Signal Corp training in 1970-71 I had the pleasure of being able to operate K2USA at Fort Monmouth, NJ (complete Collins S Line equipment with a selectable antenna farm to die for). In 1989 I upgraded to advanced class with the current call letters. My current rig is a Kenwood TS-530S, a classic hybrid transceiver, which I have owned for the last 30+ years and absolutely love. To this day, there is nothing like peaking the grid and dipping the plate on transmit, and listening to the sweet receiver on the 530. I now live in Savannah, GA on Whitemarsh Island. At the moment I only have a 10 meter dipole at 15 feet above ground, but I hope to put up a new, never used Cushcraft R-7 vertical in the near future. Never the less, the dipole has worked 83 countries in one month. Hope to talk with you in the near future. Steve KD3LQ
