Hello! Please call me Shane, as that's what all my friends and acquaintances call me. My shack has: Radios:
Interface: Signalink USB. Antennas:
I primarily operate digital modes, including BPSK31 (and it's other speeds), RTTY, and Feld Hell. I also can be found operating SSB and even some CW. During 6 meter openings, you'll find me there as well. When I am not contesting or looking for DX, I can be found on the Central North Carolina Traffic Net. The net meets nightly on the WB4PZA repeater, 146.820 -600Hz based in Wilkesboro NC at 9:30pm local time. I also can be found on the North Carolina Evening Net, held each evening on 3.823 at 6:30pm local time. I enjoy contests large and small and look forward to the big DX contests, the November Sweepstakes, and VHF contests to name a few. I am proud to be a member of Appalachian Contesters, W4APP. W4APP is active in multiple contests throughout the year. Please visit our website at W4APP.com to learn more about the club and its activities. Here I am, proudly displaying W4APP's 2010 NC QSO Party, Club In-state SSB Championship plaque! I have the priviledge of having the 2011 Championship plaque in my shack.
On the left, W4TRP and I prepare the 6 meter beam on Whitetop Mountain Virginia for the 2008 September ARRL VHF Contest. On the right, the complete antenna set-up from the September 2009 ARRL VHF Contest, seen at sunset on Whitetop Mountain Virgina!
I am happily married to Aimee, KI4YWD. Besides amateur radio, I enjoy amateur meteorology, astronomy, and the study of prehistoric civilizations. I have also been known to chase trains, but between my family, work, and amateur radio I don't do that much anymore. To learn even more, visit The Homepage of the Appalachian Contesters. Lots of pictures there as well! If we've just worked, thanks for the contact. If not, I hope to hear you on the air soon! 73, Shane Last modified: 2012-03-16 19:36:08, 4367 bytes fetched
