Hello, if you are looking me up because you heard me and was not able to contact me please e-mail me at kd8cdp@yahoo.com . I am sixteen years old, I’m in the tenth grade at Jefferson High School.

I started into ham Radio three years ago and have had a ball. I took the test on Sep. 10 and became effective on Sep. 23 2005. I enjoy seeing that some folks are interested in getting kids into ham radio. I have started a program here in S.E. Mi. called Hamkids. You will find my site at http://www.hamkids.com .I was shocked that not many kids are into this hobby. My dad (Kd8bus) and I have went right to work to change that. We would like to work with people all over to start a larger project for kids in the Amateur Radio world. We need your help, and anyone else that would be interested.

Hamkids was created in effort to recruit young people to Amateur Radio, and to give seasoned radio operators a chance to help train and mentor the young amateur radio operators along there way in developing proficient radio operating skills. Hamkids is not just for kids, it is for anyone, any age to get involved in the movement to recruit more youth to Amateur Radio. The future of everything is in the youth. Please help pass Amateur Radio on to the future. Also pass as much knowledge as you can.

WE ARE CURRENTLY LOOKING FOR ANYONE TO POST PICTURES OF THEIR AMATEUR SATIONS AND RADIOS!

We have the Hamkids Amateur Radio Net each Wednesday at 7:30 pm local time on the 72 Monroe 146.720, K8rpt repeater, with 100 hz pl. tone. Main Net Control is Gordie Kd8cdp. We also need some youth to participate as Net Control.

We also have the Hamkids Planning Meeting on Tuesday nights, at 8:00 pm local time on Echolink. To participate in the planning meeting just connect to Kd8bus node. Everyone can and also is encourage to participate.

I would also like to tell you about another great program, ARMAD. ARMAD is a special event in Amateur Radio. ARMAD stands for Amateur Radio Military Appreciation Day. Amateur Radio Operators from around the world join together in various places across the nation during this event in effort to allow the people from our communities to gather at public locations and give live verbal positive support to our Military. You can find ARMAD at http://www.armad.net . Start an ARMAD event near you!
