Hi my name is Carl and my call is KE4KZZ. I am located in Sarasota Florida. I was born and raised here. Send me an EQSL I am not yet set up for paper QSLs, but if you do send paper I will make something to send back. I first got my ticket in 1994 and was active for a year or two. Then I became frustrated with learning the code and preoccupied with life and stopped operating. Then as time went on I let my license lapse. Recently I got my tech license in Dec. 2008. Passed my General in early March 2009. Just got an Icom 730 on 3-26-09 and took me a couple of days to make a suitable anntenna. It is a long wire folded dipole (i guess u would call it that) connected to the long wire post on a MFJ-941E. It is made from 100' foot of 300 ohm twin lead about 65' (130' total)makes the folded section and it is fed in the center. The left over line just barely goes to my tuner. It is suspended about 15' at center and about 8' at the ends. It tunes 40m the best but will tune 80, 40, 20, 17, 15, 12, and 10. Ironically when i first placed it my feed line was short so center was about 8' up making a sagging w instead of inverted v. It worked a little better as the w. I think it is because in order to raise feed point I had to move it and the V is not strait. The south side also travels to Swest. Any way i hope to hear you out there! 73's KE4KZZ. P.S. My other Hobby. mmmmmhhmmmm!
