Scott has been involved in the emergency services field since 1989 where he entered into a career of law enforcement. While in law enforcement, Scott actively participated in emergency response programs with the community. Over the years, Scott has completed over 1,000 hours of emergency management training which is certified by/from POST, the State Fire Marshall, State OES, FEMA, USAF, and other government agencies. Scott's certifications include incident command, disaster command, full emergency management course, CERT, ERT, Fire, disaster services, emergency services, dispatching, first responder, weather response, Hazmat, and many others. Scott has learned a great deal through his training and has strategically kept himself in positions that benefit from his very extensive training and background. Scott has had a history of successfully developing and molding government disaster and emergency programs into a full fledge resourceful operation on a budget and boosting team morale in turn increasing quality emergency responders. Scott's training and experience further enables him to train responders and further open capacities for which they can make a difference in people's lives. For example, Scott developed a full emergency response team for a city of 40,000 that consisted of volunteers, policeman and firefighters and turned the operation into a resourceful one that could help with a variety of situations, thus further "protecting" the city from many perils that may come. The city recognized this and began to fully support the operation financially. Scott received accolades from State OES and the emergency plan developed has been used a model.

Scott also helped developed a Skywarn/Spotter program for a National Weather Service office that turned into being one of the top, if not the top, in the country. The plan for this program was being requested from other NWS offices. Inter-agency recognition gave way to providing mutual aid type support and historically cut red tape, enabling a means for helping government protect and save lives. Scott was nominated for a NOAA award for his dedication to the program and received high accolades from the staff and administrator of the program.

Scott has received many "invites" for various government agencies to help develop their plans/teams, however he currently loves and is with the US Air Force Auxiliary, Civil Air Patrol where he is a Disaster Relief Officer and Emergency Services Officer. He is looking forward to aggressively getting into the Homeland Security.
