I have been WA5AME in Albuquerque, NM; WB4WVJ in Cary, NC; and KA5BXJ initially in Georgetown, TX. My first license was in 1961. I retired from IBM software development in 2006 after 38 years. I operate 80M - 2M CW, SSB, RTTY, and PSK. I was an avid Heathkit builder for many years. Check out my Heathkit station with matching homebrew RTTY converter and homebrew pair of 4-400's matching the Heathkit gear c.1974 at http://www.berryfamilyweb.com/ham%20radio.htm . Now, between travels in the RV and eight grandkids, I'm pretty much an appliance operator . My current home QTH includes: IC-756 Pro III, Tokyo Hy-Power HL-1.5KFX, Palstar AT-AUTO, SM-220, SP-930, Force 12 C3E 8-el beam at 40', Yaesu G-800SA rotator, FT-7800 VHF/UHF, 40M & 80M Inv-Vees, 144/440 MHz ground plane, 6M loop. Here's my Force 12 beam during an ice storm - it drooped but it didn't break!
