Click for more detail... ALL QSLs direct. Include the usual IRCs or two greenstamps with SAE/SASE for DX stations. SASEs from US. A green stamp thrown in extra is appreciated since we get hundreds of QSL card requests to confirm KH6. We don't collect QSL cards, but we are happy to confirm Zone 31 and KH6. However, it does take money to print all the cards we send out, and printing QSLs is a big cost. One dollar no longer covers the cost of printing the QSLs and DX postage. The picture, shot from the lanai (front porch) shows the tower which is 475 feet down toward the Pacific Ocean, looking toward North America and Western Europe. The station is located in on the Hamakua Coast of the Big Island of Hawaii and is about 95 per cent complete. The 150 foot Rohn 55 tower was put up in October 2007. The station sits at 820 feet above sea level and is about 3000 feet from the Pacific, resulting in a big rolling drop to the Pacific Ocean in the direction of North America, Europe and Asia. Currently, the station consists of three KT36XA antennas at 92/56/29 feet, and are independently rotated. The stack of KT36XAs are operated in phase by means of a WX0B Stackmatch which allows various combinations of the antennas. There is also a stack of 40 meter Yagis at 152 and 80 feet. The top antenna rotates 360 degrees while the lower rotates from JA through Europe to North America to South America, allowing for a full stack to 95% of the world's ham popualtion. They also use the Stackmatch for phasing. On 80 meters there is a system of three 2-element looped arrays facing NE,NW, and SW. 160 meter operation is planned but no definite plans for an antenna. An A-3 WS is assembled and should be on the tower by December Also, 6 meter operation is planned for next spring Primary operators for the station are K4XS and WH7YL. We look forward to working you either in daily operations or in contests. In the future the station may be available for a daily rental for visitors to the Big Island Last modified: Sun Nov 23 06:11:03 2008 Does this page contain inappropriate content?
